Executive coaching for technical leaders

Get your seat at the table.

You're great at the work. Now you need the room above you to see it. Coaching for technical experts ready for the next level up.

Katherine Mayne · Certified Executive Coach · Two decades leading in enterprise technology

Who I work with

You've earned trust through expertise. The next level runs on influence.

The skills that made you exceptional as a technical expert aren't the ones that carry you into — and through — executive leadership. If any of this sounds familiar, we should talk.

The work speaks, but you don't

Your results are strong, yet the people who decide your next move don't fully see your impact.

The room above you runs on a different language

Executive conversations move on priorities and trade-offs, not the technical depth you're known for.

You won't play politics

You want to rise on substance — without becoming someone you don't recognize to get there.

You're ready, on paper

You've got the title and the track record. What's missing is the visibility and the voice.

My approach

Influence without losing yourself.

As your thought partner, I help you make your value legible to the people above you — by solving the real business problem, not by playing the game.

01

Communication-style awareness

We start with how you're built to communicate — and how the people you need to reach are built to listen. Influence becomes a skill, not a personality transplant.

02

Solve the real business problem

Executives buy outcomes. We reframe your work in the language of the business so your contribution lands where decisions get made.

03

Stay yourself

No politics, no posturing. You grow your range and keep your integrity — the version of leadership you'd actually respect.

How we work together

A focused partnership, built around your next move.

  • 1:1 executive coachingRegular sessions focused on the specific room you're trying to win — your boss, your peers, the leadership team.
  • Communication-style profilingA clear read on your natural style and the styles around you, so you can flex with intention.
  • Real-situation rehearsalWe work the actual conversations, presentations, and decisions on your plate right now.
  • Between-session thought partnershipSupport when the high-stakes moment is tomorrow, not next month.

Not sure if it's a fit?

The best way to find out is a conversation. We'll talk through where you are, where you want to be, and whether I'm the right partner to help you get there — no pressure either way.

What to expect

Focused by design. Most clients work with me actively for about six months.

Coaching that never ends isn't coaching. We work intensively toward your next move, then step back to a lighter rhythm once you're carrying it yourself.

You're running the plays yourself. We sharpen, pressure-test, and plan what's next.

About

Katherine Mayne

Certified Executive Coach · Technology Executive

I've spent my career inside enterprise technology at the executive level, where I learned firsthand that brilliant technical work doesn't promote itself. The leaders who rise are the ones who make their value visible to the people above them — without trading away who they are.

As a Certified Executive Coach, I partner with technical leaders at exactly that inflection point: the move from respected expert to recognized executive. My work draws on communication-style awareness and years in the rooms where these decisions actually get made — so the guidance is practical, not theoretical.

My promise is simple. We'll grow your influence by solving the real business problem in front of you — and you'll still recognize yourself at the end of it.

Questions

The things people ask before they book.

How long does coaching take?

Most clients work with me actively for four to six months — long enough to change how you operate, short enough to stay focused. After that, many move to monthly or quarterly maintenance check-ins. You're never signing up for coaching without an end.

How do sessions work?

We meet by video, typically twice a month, with between-session support when a high-stakes moment lands on your calendar. Every session works on your real situations — not exercises.

Is this only for people who want the executive title?

No. "The next level" means the next level for you — a bigger room, a broader mandate, more influence in the role you have, or yes, the promotion. We define it together in the first session.

What does it cost?

We'll cover pricing on the discovery call once I understand what you're working toward — engagements are packaged around your goal, not sold by the hour. The discovery call itself is free and useful either way.
